Tillman brothers

Recently I commented about the Tillman brothers whose names were inscribed on Rye Harbour Church Lychgate (picture #269) I have attached here a photograph of all four brothers together, from left to right they are John Tillman, Frederick Tillman (my grandfather) Gordon Tillman and Stanley Tillman, I would think this photograph was taken during the 1940's somewhere in Hastings. My grandfather sailed with the White Star Line in the merchant navy during WW1 as Bosun. During WW2 he, his wife (and first cousin Doroth May nee Stevenson) and their two children (Jeanne and Roy) were evacuated to Didcot where Fred worked in a factory there producing ships ropes. Later on in the War the family returned to Hastings where he worked as a coastguard officer, his lookout being from the coastguard station at the top of Galley Hill, Bexhill. Submitted by Penelope Hills by e-mail.
Picture Added on 28 December 2009.
