The Mills family

Alexander Mills, born in 1879, with his wife Annie (1881), and four of their five children: David Arthur (Gunnar), born in 1915, Christine (1917), Olive (1920), and Marjorie (1923). They lived in Gordon Place, Rye Harbour. Gunnar Mills became a fisherman, like his father.

This is a picture of my family. My Grandparents Alec and Annie Mills with my Uncle David Arthur Mills known as Gunner. My Aunt seated on the left Christine Mills, my Mother Olive Mills known as Dash and in the bonnet my Aunt Marjorie. The second brother Tom Mills is not in the picture, he may be the one who took it.

In discussions with my sister and cousins we feel the little girl I. The bonnet may in fact be Joy Doust daughter of neighbours Mr and Mrs Jim Doust.
