This is one of the saddest pictures I have ever seen. It seems to be etched in misery and suffering and one can almost feel the grief of the place. The two figures in the centre of the photograph are children I believe and they seem to be almost overwhelmed by the weight of their burden. It touches me deeply as I love Rye Harbour having spent most of my life dreaming about the place which is as delightful in reality as it was in my mind.

For unlucky people like we who do not have the joy of living in the village this web site is very useful and rewarding and on days such as today when the weather is so terrible it is impossible to go out we can sit here at the pooter and be in Rye Harbour - virtually. THANK YOU.
