I remember Connie or `Nurse Hatter` as she was widely known in the village. She was quite a `proper` lady, with a very distinctive voice! The red Volkswagen Beetle in the background belonged to my husband Mike Bowe, and was probably being driven at speed to get to work in Hastings! We bought the car from George and Jean Caister around 1977, the year before we married in 1978.
