Mary's home was built over the site of where Ma Tonbridge's TEA ROOMS, and home used to be located. I have no idea when the new house was erected, but it was obviously designed to give a good view of the harbour and river in both directions up to Rye and out to sea.

I think it must have been built in the early seventies as I remember it from family days out in the mid-seventies. The windows used to have rounded corners like TV screens. Last time I looked there was still a small one on the river side of the house.

Yes Abigail - You are very observant. It had very pretty but complicated softwood windows that rotted rather quickly. Most of the windows have been replaced at least twice since then!
